Admissions for MCA - 2011

Testdate: 5.6.2011                 Timings: 10.00 a.m.

Bachelorís degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate, in any discipline with mathematics as a compulsory subject at the Higher Secondary (10+2) level.

Note: For calculating the prescribed percentage of marks for admission to M.Sc./MCA courses the marks obtained in the language papers of the qualifying degree will be excluded.

Centres for the Entrance Examinations
The Entrance Examinations will be held at 26 centres, viz., Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Dharwad, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jammu, Karimnagar, Kohima, Kolkota, Lucknow, Madurai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Note:The University reserves the right to cancel any of the above Examination Centres and allot another Centre closer to the Centre cancelled.

General Information:
Detailed information is given in the Prospectus-cum-Application Form 2001-12. Candidates who are appearing in the final examinations of the qualifying degree and expecting their results and certificates before 31st July 2011 are also eligible to apply.

Reservation of seats:
Reservation of seats shall be as per the GOI/UGC norms for SC/ST/OBC/PH/ Wards/ Dependants of defence personnel/Kashmiri migrants/ Foreign Nationals/NRIs. Few seats are also provided to the nominees of some UT/NE states. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination is also provided for SC/ST/PH categories.

Hostel accommodation is not guaranteed to all the students admitted.

How to apply:

  1. The Prospectus-cum-Application Forms can be downloaded from the University website. Filled in such applications should be submitted to the University along with a demand draft of Rs.200/- for each course in the case of General/OBC category and Rs.75/- for each course in the case of SC/ST/PH categories.

  2. Prospectus-cum-Application Forms can be obtained in person from the Academic Section, Office of the Controller of Examinations,

    For SC/ST/PH Category Rs.150/-
    University Campus, Hyderabad against cash payment

  3. The Prospectus-cum-Application Forms can also be obtained by ordinary post from the Dy. Registrar (Acad. & Exams), Prof. C.R. Rao Road, Gachibowli, University of Hyderabad, P.O. Central University, Hyderabad- 500 046
    by sending (a) a requisition, (b) one self-addressed adhesive sticker/slip, and (c) a crossed demand draft for an amount of Rs.450/- in the case of General & OBC Category and Rs.200/- in the case of SC/ST/PH categories for each copy of prospectus-cum-application form which includes Rs.50/- towards the ordinary postal charges. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the postal charges. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad, on State Bank of India, Hyderabad Central University Campus Branch, Hyderabad or on Andhra bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad.

  4. The duly filled in applications are to be submitted in person at the Academic Section or by post to the Dy. Registrar (Acad.& Exams) to the above address so as to reach him on or before 6.5.2011.
